Medium tree, upto 15 m high, deliquisent branched, evergreen, presence of mucilaginous latex. 
Tap root s well devdeloped a nd much spreading into deep horizon of soil 
Noodes not ridged, internodes short, green, terete, infrequently lenticellate, solid, woody 
Bark greyish black, longitudinally fissured. 
Leaves simple, alternate, instrastipulate, stipules present at both the sides of petiolar base, lanceolate, entire, acute, green, coriaceous, mid-vein present 
Lamina cordate, 15 cm long, 11.7 cm wide, entire, acute, coriaceous, dorsiventral, dorsal green with smooth surface, ventral whitish-green with rough surface, unicostate reticulate venation, whitish yellow mid-vein distinct. 
Flower solitary, mature flower at base, ebracteate, pedicellate, bisexual, regular, complete 
Sepals 5 gamosepalous, cup shaped, inferior, valvate
Petals 5, polypetalous, twisted, inferior, shortly fused at base, obovate, herbaceous, wrinkle, dark red spot at basal interior side, base thick while terminal side thin. glabrous, showy yellow but turns pink through gradual maturation, deciduous, longitudinal veins upward parallelt 
Stamens 10, monadelphose, filament fused to form staminal column surrounding style 
Carpels 5, syncarpous, superior, cup-shaped, fleshy, 5 chambered, two ovules in each chamber, axile placentation 
Style 1, terminal, soft, white yellow, glabrous, fleshy, Stigama 5
